yeah, the 4.10s will be a HUGE improvement over the 3.58s. Have you tried double low yet?

Not yet, I debated about pulling the lever pulling into my driveway, need to fill the front diff and figure out the transfer case leak first just because I'm paranoid.

3.58s ended up in the trash. I had the 3.58s regeared to 4.88s. I'm impressed you guys can keep up with my rigs.

back to 265/75/16 tires
4.10 gearing (I think) in the axles with the 8.4 open diff
still has the Doubler
stock rear bumper, Steve's custom one is now on the white truck

Yes. They came in a few of the 4cyl reg cab Tacomas with the 8.4" diff. I don't think they ever came in the 8 inch diff.

They're 2nd gen tacoma wheels. Pretty easy to find on KSL. I don't have them anymore.

Finally got all the parts together and a few days off to put an elocker back in the rear... :greg:



Need to find my jack stands now...

I haven't wired it up yet, I believe I have everything I need to do it, just haven't got that far yet. It's either going to be a 5 minute job or going to take me half a day.

The rear brake line bothered me, the stock one is too short, it's bad when the brake line is stretched out before the shock.

Pirate had Napa part number 38256 as a 19" flex line, I cross referenced and Autozone has it as part #77676. It's about 3-4 inches longer than stock. This is the same brake line that came on an 85 Toyota truck. Cost $12.80 with tax. Another alternative is for a 90-94 Nissan 300ZX but it's 21". Hopefully that helps someone.

Found some tires, they aren't Steve big but they are an improvement.
