What's the check engine light on for? Have you run any codes on it?

im going to try and go rent a scanner on wednesday so i can see what it's pulling. I was told there is probably a bad ground some where so its kind of pulling a false code.

Why rent a scanner?
Turn the ignition switch on-off-on (just to 'On' but not to start) three times within five seconds and then leave the key on. Several seconds later, any stored codes will show up in the odometer. Have patience, they don't show up immediately.

There are multiple threads that tell you what all of the codes mean.

do you have any more pictures of this jeep? who did the work on it? Are you only interested in a wrangler or is a cj7 included in that possible trade option? my parents are looking for something new and have a 79 cj7 with the 304 v8 with a fresh top end that just doesn't get used because my mom wants something "comfortable"

check engine light is on for the evap solenoid circuit, i believe the charcoal canister needs to be replaced. cracked on bottom. 89xj, send some pics to my phone, i will check it out. 801-831-3922.
