I'll be working on it Monday night. Assuming I don't have any big issues pulling the gear out of the third (that's a big assumption), then it should be driveable monday night.

Thanks to my friend Steve from work, we got this all back together last night. On Saturday I had forgotten to install the ADD intermediate shaft before putting it all together.

I drove it to work today and it drove great. I haven't had time to experiment with the 4x4 much yet, but if felt like it was engaging. The 4x4 light isn't coming on (I'll have to check the wiring), but I do think it's working. It's a huge relief not to have to get a ride everywhere. :)

Nice Steve, glad you got it all back together.

On wed I installed my steering rack bushings, sway bar bushings, and budbuilt skid, just in time for a trip to the swell with Frieed. We had a great time.

To be honest, I think I'd be happier with a double cab tacoma, but this is a great rig.

Happier in what circumstances? Seems like you had some reasons to not get a double cab, but also wanted to try a runner?

I love my work supercrew, and it is well suited for many of my activities (better for some), but driving it has made me appreciate (and keep) the enclosed eXcursion. (rather than buy an Ecoboost supercrew or crewcab diesel).

Now that you have done a single cab, extended cab, double cab and 4 runner, it would be neat to see a pros and cons thread related to both trails and backcountry camping.
