A Big Sticky

So... I guess my first question is; does anyone know for sure if Goodyear is still producing a 42 inch sticky?

Here's the story.

I have a brand new set of 40 MTR stickies and a used set of 42 sticky MTR's that I just picked up. I was totally set on just using the 40's until my chassis became a roller. After looking at it (a lot) I decided I needed a larger tire to make the proportions of the buggy look better. I then found the used set of 42's about a week after picking up the 42's I got a bonus at work. Now, I want to sell both sets and drop some coin to get a brand new set of 42's. But, I keep reading rumors that they stopped making the sticky 42. I mean... It's on the internet so it must be true, right?

my second option will be a sticky 43 tsl sx which I have heard great things about but don't love the look of them.

The goodyears are sweet and all, but why not go with the new 42" trepadors? If they are anything like the 40s, they will be awesome.

The SXs I have heard good and bad with. I heard they were a half sticky, not a true sticky like the goodyears, Maxxis, or BFGs. Some of my old work colleagues argued this with me several times. I think Herzog here runs them if I remember right, and loves them. And they fit his buggy extremely well.

Because I got a bonus, I didn't win the lottery

I have only spoke with a few people that run them. One sort of mimic'd what you just said and the other person I know said they are 2nd to a BFG. Bert, the second person in my example has years in the game and he said they are a legit tire. I want a 42 or bigger and if they stopped making the MTR that would be best choice I think.

I believe the 42 Treps need a 20 inch wheel too. That would require getting new wheels for both a BFG and Treps which makes it that much harder to justify. I still have yet to hear if they officially stopped making a sticky 42 MTR.

I looked at the 42" trep they displayed at SEMA. I'm pretty sure it was for a 17" wheel. I don't think they exist for peasants like us though. I think Tim Cameron has the only set I know of out in the wild. I have also heard that 42" mtrs have been discontinued.

The ones that got cut all up on that IFS bouncer? I cried when I saw that.
