No, Hey Joe is west of town, out by Dead Horse Point. You drop down to the Green River and follow it north to the canyon.

expect some minor scrathing on pretty SUV paint....

that trail was a blast in the stock zuk.... it gets very, very foresty down in there. we went in to the uranium mines, and it was great. i think it's rated a 2.....ish....

there is a really cool rock at the top of the cliff that looks like a perch.... it's a great place to stand and dangle your feet off the massive cliff.... and behind that offers some ok rock climbing.....

good times...

hey stripeshirtman, you've never even been there! quit posing ;)

Everybody needs a picture right there :) It's on the long canyon road I believe, we took that route to get to the Shafer trail, both of which were very scenic, but not technical at all.

Yep, I'm going to have to argee with Al. That is the Long Canyon road, you turn off at Jug Handle Arch on the Potash Road and head up. Or come Down from Canyonlands. This is a way to access Gemini Bridges also.

One of these days I'm gonna get around to taking the WJ down to Moab to do some of these scenic trails.

Yup, that place where you drive under the big ass boulder is towards the top of Long Canyon, aka Pucker Pass. One of the best poser shots around.

Okay, so I've never been up Long Canyon. Is it just a nice graded dirt road, like what I see in the pics? Doesn't look like it's worth taking the YJ up there, but is it smooth enough that my Dodge would make it without risk of damage? Towing? Howzabout the WJ?

I was there over thanksgiving. That road is graded the whole way, but is very steep. I was a little nervous getting out of my jeep to take the pic, worried that it would roll back over me. At the very bottom of the canyon where you turn off the main highway to Potash I noticed that *IF* you were to drive into the actual bottom of the wash there were some very nice large rocks that went on for a distance, could be worth checking out sometime if you get my drift.
