I'm catching up. lol
New motor/tranny/tcase are all back in now. Started laying out more tubing too while Teddy was working on the interior panels. Moved the mounts for the front coilovers too. I still have roughly 6.5" of up travel.
I also bought an old press brake so we can brake the panels for the interior. It will do aluminum very easily. I even broke a 10ga (.134 wall) panel that was about 2.5ft wide with it. Wasn't easy, but doable with two guys on it.

33* high yesterday to 80* high today. Gotta love Colorado. Not even fall yet, and we were getting snow flurries yesterday.
Hood is cut finally. I got it as low as I could and still need to trim a few minor spots later on.
Teddy is almost done with the firewall. Then we will finish off the rest of the interior. Its actually starting to look like a buggy now.

Final structural tubes are in on the B-pillar. We can finish weld all of it now, as the chassis is done at this point. I still need to build an oil pan skid for the motor, and now we can finally move on to wiring and plumbing. Target date is still Nov 1st to try to fire the motor.
We also got the rear sway bar mounts built on both the chassis and axle. At this point, I only plan to run a rear sway bar. Its just an Antirock, but hopefully it will be enough. If not, I will consider a TK1 Racing setup. We'll see.
As you can see, we even started painting the chassis in areas that are "done". Normally I would wait for a few test runs, but since fall is here and I am planning on pulling this thing to Johnson Valley, on an open trailer for TG, I figure a coat of rattle can is gonna be needed.

This has really been slow moving. Things are being done, but its all tedious little stuff. We have started plumbing fuel lines and wiring.
I will be ordering all of my brake lines and fittings soon too.
I got the headers and crossover wrapped in Lava wrap, and will be adding some adhesive backed heat shield to the firewall panels as well as the floor.
All of this crap gets stupid expensive.
I also pulled all of the foam out of the fuel cell and will be going with a much different baffling system in the cell.

So, I ditched the glowshift gauges. I decided to run a more retro gauge system and ended up ordering this Cal-Custom gauge kit. New Vintage USA builds these, so they should be pretty damn good quality.
I also laid out the new dash on the plasma table today and will hopefully have these in the new panel this weekend.
With the gauge kit came a fuel sending unit. So, that was added to the fuel cell today. It also has a speedo, which I will run off the Atlas, while the tranny will still pull its pulse from the tailhousing on the tranny. The speedo also has an hour meter on it as well. Sp, I can track running hours on it.
Engine skid was built too. This will tie into the motor mounts and belly pan. It is obviously mounted with bushings as is the motor, so hopefully I will get little to no vibration. It will be one of the last things that is welded on just in case I need to do work with the oil pan, or transmission. When this needs to be dropped, I will add some interlocking tube clamps to make it easier to remove. For now it will do.
This is Zane's work on the relay/distribution block. Kid is a wiring badass.

I'm not sure mine will be done by then, but I am trying. Its very hard to not just drop everything and knock it out, but I just don't want to piss off customers. So, its still a couple hours every evening after we close and Saturdays.
And, the Hammers aren't really a place to "dial" a rig in for the first time. So, I may not be going. Maybe I will stick around here and wheel instead if I can finish it by then.

Its alive. Tweaked had two wires swapped in the ECU 40 pin block. Josh walked me through it with Zane. Only issue now is the injectors are trash after sitting for 21 years. So, I have to pull them, and swap them for my 96 injectors in the morning. I ordered new orings as well. So, it should be running under its own power tomorrow afternoon.
I must say that this thing sound mean as hell. Nothing like a toyota V8. I'll try to get some video up tomorrow once it running.
It sounds every bit as badass as my old 347 stroked race motor in my old buggy. But it quiets down at idle.
