Advise On Beadlocks

well, I have the TR/Avalanche locks on mine but I have yet to wheel it:d so I cant tell ya how I lie them. The only reason I ended up getting one of the most expensive locks out was cause I got a KILLER deal on them;) if I were to do it again I would deffinitely get the DIY or the Allieds if I didn;t know how to weld or wasn;t confident in my welding. They(as of now) are not legal for on street use, I am pretty sure Scott from Rockstomper has checked into it quite extensively so you might want to check with him about the details of it...the bolt pattern of chevys and toys and Waggys is 6x5.5"...if you really plan to stick with those axles then I would say get them...if there is even a slight chance you may swap axles then I would wait on the locks...you dont want to get too little backspacing cause then you start to put un-needed stress on the wheel bearings...I would personally swap you outers to 8 lug stuff (if its possible, I'm sure it is since there is a milllion different types of 8 lug 44s) and then get 8 lug rims...that way if you do decide to swap to 1-ton axles or just fullwidth your rims are not an issue...plus if you ever have to sell them your market is a lot bigger with 8 lug stuff...goodluck

and BTW I think I have heard that 4WPW can balance any size of tire up to a 44" I believe...didn;t sky get his 40s balanced there??? I dunno:D:D:p

With the 14 bolt draging over everything it depends on the trail. RS, 10psi

But I want funtional bead locks that I can have on and drive to moab or trails. 15x 10's or mabey 15x12's I have 35x12.5x15's MTR's and want/nead to widen the stance on the wag.

If you decide to go with the DIY beadlocks using a 15x8 rim, it will basically end up with a width more like a 15x10.

Also, I think a rim with a width of 12" would be a bit ridiculous running your 12.5" wide MTR's.

I run the 15x10's with these beadlocks giving me the 12" rim's and I run 37x12.5 SSR's.. Looks fine.

You're right, the extra height of the 37's make the width of the rims look fine. the 35's look kinda strange in my opinion. Of course, this is an issue of cosmetics only and has little to do with performance off road.

honestly there isn;t much to learn while doing leaves...set the pinion angle and weld up the perches...I'm sure someone could weld it for you if you dont have a welder...
