There will be an AF Canyon clean-up party on Saturday July 8. Meet at Tibble Fork at 10:00 AM! Look for the Forest Service Ranger. They usually wear green!

Utah 4x4 Club has chosen to help out with this. We are looking at this as a great way to get the club off the ground and more than just a web wheeling spot. I will be up there with my XJ of many colors and a utility trailer for trash. We hope that there is a large turn out to show the FS we want these trails to remain open. Here is a link to our thread on the subject: http://www.utah4x4club.com/index.php?showtopic=1242

!UPDATE!

Joe McFarland (the volunteer coordinator for the PG district of the Uinta) would like to be there to supervise and help us out.

Joe would like to meet at the FS Ranger site in South Fork. It's about 100 yards past the turnoff to Tibble Fork Reservoir. It's on the right hand side over a small bridge and through a gate. Joe will be there with the gate open a little before 10:00AM. He wanted to meet there for 2 reasons. First, he thought Tibble would be too crowded to get everyone together and fill out the volunteer forms. Second, he would like to use the utility trailer Rick's bringing to transport some railing up into the canyon. The railing is stored there at the site we'll meet him at.

Things to bring:
Pants, not shorts
Gloves ($1.99 at Harbor Freight)
Water & a lunch

Here's the agenda of projects: Block a couple of illegal bypasses near the main road, repair a very small section of pole and rail fence near Dutchman's Flat, and collect trash at campsites.

The project should only last 3-4 hours. We should be done by 2pm giving us time to play or relax and chat when we're done!

Just to clarify... the ranger station is on the main canyon road, PASS the turnoff to North Fork (Tibble Fork Res). We met there in the past and half of the groups was trying to find a Ranger station in the campgrounds on the NorthFork :D

How about those of us that trailer our rigs, should we unload at Tibble Fork and cruise down the main road to the ranger station, or is there a trailer parking area there at the ranger station? Just don't want to get hassled for driving my rig on the paved road.

Yah, seems like a good recipe for lots of lost folks who don't know the canyon that well. Is there room for 20 rigs/drivers to park at the Ranger Station and sign waivers?
If not, perhaps those with the trailer to haul rail could meet at the Ranger Station and load it up, then run up to the Tibble Fork Res. parking lot where the majority of folks will be staged? Keep it simple.

20 rigs without trailers easily. Parking at 10am on a Saturday at Tibble Fork isn't as simple as it used to be.
