but what about the young & dumb & very uninformed?
how does one educate those who just want to play?

I think the answer is to not be dumb and know what your rig's limitations are, before you go on a trail, find out about it. I love going out and play but I don't push my rig becuase I need to drive it back home and I need to get myself home too.

Everyone needs to realize that there are those who are trying to close trails and that that their actions are being watched.

A friend and I went up AF canyon last monday. We were going to go up Mineral Basin and play around.... When we got to that area here is what we found...
The guy had NO tow points and his buddies Cherokee was a 2x4. Don't ever do this people.... These guys were stuck and with the rig blocking the path, there was no way that other cherokee could have got around to go for help. Luckily they were planning on camping up there, so they had tents and bags and stuff. But....

this guy look familiar?
this was the next day, i passed them on the way out of the canyon...
luckily no one was hurt
that's my white rover pulling him over

Actually, looking at the pictures again, I don't think that is the same guy. The guy I rescued was in a black or dark blue Cherokee...You're guy looks like it was a brown one.

I spoke with a ranger this morning, he is under the impression that they are not going to do any major trail repairs (meaning blading) the Forest Lake Road, they are most interested in fixing the fences, etc
