AF Canyon trails?

I"ve never been crawlin up AF Canyon before, but I understand that if you go up past silver lake flats to the east on that dirt road. That there is some good places to go. My question is, where do you unload and which way do you go? Do you just follow the dirt road or what. I was told you can go clear over to Snowbird? I drive a 91 YJ: locked front and rear, sprung over, 35 inch MTRs on MRT beadlocks, revolvers and an auto trans. I would appriciate any and all imput. THANKS A LOT!!!!!

Not much above Silver Lake Flat Reservoir, the higher route to Earl-Eagle was closed several years ago. The road from Mineral Basin over Mineral Divide into Snowbird is 100% closed to public access, there is a gate and even when open it is clearly signed.

Legal options in the canyon:
Milkmaid Trail
Forest Lake
Mary Ellen Gulch
Miller Hill
Mineral Basin
Dry Canyon

So you head up to Tibble Fork reservoir. There you can park and unload as there is a parking lot there. From there head straight east to the dirt and the fun begins from there. Just be sure to stay on the trails and out of the lakes.

I charge $500 for a day rate, discounts for senior citizens.

I'll try and reply in more depth when I get some free time, paying work has to come first ;)

Before you drive off-trail or off a cliff, how 'bout doing some research and becoming an informed user of public lands?

Get a map! Crazy idea, I know.

Go to the Uinta-Wasatch-Cache website (when it's not down for maintenance):

http://www.fs.fed.us/r4/uwc/

Or stop by any FS office or any GOOD map store and get a summer travel map.

Know before you go, and you'll have a lot more fun.

There's a couple good roads that are stil open up there. I like mineral basin, Tyings grave, and Forest lake. They should be fairly easy to find if you get a map.
