I think that it sucked some mud inside it too. I got the alternator changed out, drove it to the car wash, went home....then was going to get some DT and click click...nada....shuts all my power down and then resets after about 10-15 seconds. I'm gonna pull it off tommorow and check it out. It's warrantied it is dead.....

Mud is very bad.....

but it sure looks like you guys had fun!!
Mud is really bad when you have a busted CV Axle boot and get stuck in a huge puddle. Then on the way home you blow the Sh!t out of your CV going down the canyon, not to mention I have Quadr-Crap and had to drive it 30 miles home with the CV spinning inside of itself :D

looks like fun where was that at?

Private property, I'm guessing without permission. (If it's where I think it is, pretty easy to recognize that spot, been wheelin' up there since '84)

I've talked with the city a little about having designated trails up there, but haven't pressed it real hard. No luck so far.

Yes, private property.... but with pseudo-permission. Landowners has been present for our mud-fest's. Plus the fact that come spring, the whole flat area is slated to be developed... :(

Not gonna happen too soon....

The problem... all private property.... My family (grandfather) actually owned ALOT of property just West of Corner Canyon... I had always hoped it would become my wheeling reserve, no such luck... they sold it years ago and is now part of the Golf Course and the new subdivisions... I think extended family still owns land (Fitzgeralds, Allens, Days?) but not too sure.

Now for the property within the USFS boundary... Draper Ridge, Lone Rock, Movie Road... that "could" be a possibility since they have been open for years (not sure how long)...

Alot of the property below the main road is now the "Draper Preservation Park" which strictly prohibits off-road travel... but on there map, they indicate Javcobs Ladder as a "trail" they don't indicate a "foot-trail" or not???

One thing about wheeling in Lone Rock / Jacobs Ladder area... it is a treail to Lone Peak, of which there is no official trailhead as per the USFS, so there is no stopping point for your rig as far as the County Sherriff is concerned... (as per court litigation ;))

I cry. :( :( :( I knew it was coming, but I still cry.

Dude, you're holdin' out man. Hook me up for a last chance opportunity to LOVE an area I've been wheelin' for almost 20 years, though much less so in the last few.

Yup, that's the problem, the city doesn't have a lot of say on that.

Ok, what you are saying validates what I've understood and heard from different sources, but no one in an official capacity will admit to it. To summarize, you can drive "to" and "on" existing roads that are on FS land, Jacobs Ladder being one of them.

The road that follows the county line (discovered while laying GPS'd points over a map), what is the status of that? It is the road that goes just north of the flats, east up over the peak, the peak behind it, and up the ridge, kind of parallels Jacobs Ladder. In my understanding, it could be an RS2477 road, if it leads to public lands (FS land?). The network of trails between that and Alpine is where I was thinking of having a couple designated trails. Not sure how much of that is Draper/Alpine/FS/Utah County.
