So I'm in the market for a multifunctional printer, scaner and copier. I have owned 2 Epson's and will Never buy another one again. I have had nothing but problems with them. I'm looking at the Canon MP800 and a HP. My price range is $300.00.

I need input... What are you guys using?

I got a HP g85 in 2000, and I haven't had a single problem with it. I don't know if they are in your price range now (they were about $400 when I got mine).
Do you want ink jet or lazer jet?

I just bought the HP 3310 All in One. So far it has been a Great Printer. I really like the built in Wireless Networking feature.

well i guess ill chime in. i work for lasersharp...

www.lasersharp.bz and no i am not advertiseing just showing you guys what i do for a living, im a printer tech.

so here are some numbers to run by you.

inkjets cost about 25 cents a page to print.

laserjets cost about 1 -1.4 cents a page to print.

ya laserjets are black and white but they are way cheaper to run.

laserjet 3015 is a nice MFC. i also fix canon and hp inkjets and i perfer canon because of there warranty. hp warranty you have to send the printer to them as canon you can bring to a local authorized dealer and its fixed at no charge in 3-5 days.

what i tell customers is to buy a nice laserjet MFC like the 3015 or the 3380 or what not. and then buy a cheap 50-70 dollar inkjet to print your color stuff on. its also a lot cheaper to print you stuff in black and white on a laser to proof it and then print it in color as you might make a mistake and your dealing with 25 cents a page.

here are some more numbers

about 50 bucks for ink cartridges and you get 300 pages per cartridge.

about 70-80 bucks for a toner cartridge and you get 3000-5000 prints.

anyways thats my .02

hope that helps.

laserjets hp all the way

inkjets i prefer canon because of the warranty, also i forgot to mention canons ink is cheaper.

what he said is exactly what I am planning on doing. Laser for everything and then IF I have to have color then I will print on one of my inkjets or print it at work :greg: or take it to kinkos :p

the only issue with hp is they wont sell us any parts for inkjets so you have to send them in.

ya i have this mfc that sorta works. your welcome to it if you would like.

i have used laser printers for sale.

hp LJ 4000 great printer its what i have at home.

can get some HP LJ 2200 there very good printers as well.

if you buy a new one and you dont print a lot then LJ 1320 seem pretty popular as do the LJ 1160.

when it comes to printers what you pay for is what you get.

also i might add that hp and canon interchange a lot of there parts, also they both said that there inkjets are all considerd throw away type items after warranty is out of date.
