All TH400's the same?

Found one in a 1986 gmc 3/4 ton 4x4 pickup w 6.2 diesel and 208 t case, is this one ok?

I think it'll work, but you'll need a totally different torque converter.

Stall speed for the diesel is a lot lower. It'd probably be a good builder, though. Call your tranny guy to verify, but I'm 90% sure it's the same case.

diesel might have the sweet K case, with the burly bolt-on inspection cover.

Next step up, maybe, is the Cummins version (for 4cyl bread trucks): has a BIG pan, cast, supposedly one-piece w/the cover. I've got one coming, just because, so we'll see.

Grabbed that trans today has a 6 bolt inspection cover Everything actually looked pretty good, I think I will crack it just to make sure, throw a reverse manual valvebody and converter at it and let her rip
