heheh another "one of those days threads"

so I get the crew cab dually with the big block in the winter, woo hoo it's great. I'm gonna get me a diesel and it's gonna make it like, super awesome and I can't even stand thinking about it.
I got out east, truck eats 3 valves in Gary Indiana. Costs me a bunch of money and some time, but DOES NOT BREAK ANYTHING. So I was bummed, but then happy again. Good truck. Screw me, but you're nice about it. No trouble for a while.
Uh oh kingpin bushing takes a dive. What? No one can get me the kit in time for me to repair it at my Eastern Base Camp in Harrisburg PA. Fine. New stabilizer then, tires are shot anyway.
Get home towing bunches of stuff and a 2k trailer. .75mpg difference from totally empty. WTF? Perplexed, but ambivalent. Bummed that PA help had a busted ankle and couldn't help get the Cummins in. So it goes.
Cummins is all ready to go in! But what? I can't find a @#!(&!~ transfer case. Searching searching. AHHH! All Truck has one, first time IN MY LIFE I've actually bought anything from one of those places, but time is getting short to get this done, OH WELL.
Got the case but how the #@(*&# does it mate up? Drive coupler but the seal is to small? Don't run the seal is my ghetto solution, and apparently Dodge's too. Frustrated, but super, that's that.
WTF? Truck running funky, code 14: coolant temp sensor. Get into it, and number one: there is a lot of weird metallic JUNK in my air cleaner housing, wonder what the hell that is and where it came from, decide I'd better just throw it all far away and pretend I didn't see it. Number two: I see an obvious area of concern: raw wires to the sensor.. ok.. well I"ll just cut that out and splice it... but W!!! T!! F!!! the wire at the sensor is like, 3 strands for each wire and covered with enough gunk that I thought the gunk was the loom. Off to NAPA, they have brand new pigtails for $12, super. Annoyed, but jazzed that I don't have to make a new Weatherpak fitting, since no one here sells them.
2 days later all is well! Take a ride up the canyon, my truck is the return shuttle when we get down. Oooh, washboard sucks w/huge overload springs, doesn't it.. hey why is my truck making that awful noise, like it just lost have the valves or something... what is that sme... OH HELL! COOLANT!! Turns out the really long upper radiator hoses on big blocks dislike washboard SO much that they dive into the fan, causing problems. So I roll the HydroBoosted truck about 1/2mi back down the hill in the dark and manage to stash it under a tree. Later this morning I get to buy another hose and hope that's all. Not sure how much coolant I lost. About a minute's worth.
Aggravated and just tired of dealing with it! but hey, whatever.

plus, my brother sent me a virus-laden file that has totally fawked my desktop, and defeated four different scanners, I haven't gotten to TOUCH the Blazer (aka SnapTite, all the parts are in the garage LOL ), it's 2am and I haven't eaten yet!

damnit! shoot! fudge!!! and all that. All I want is for the crew cab to just WORK for one more friggin week so I can get the Burb done!!!! I don't think that's too much to ask! :mad2: :ugh: :-\ :greg:

I think he's walking next to me most times LOL

at least I didn't eat it on the mt. bike ride, that would have taken the cake!

my working theory is that the truck knows I am taking out its heart and is just resisting change. Yeah, that's all it is.

Well I finally got a transfer case that I can use, so work will commence posthaste.

My bad luck got my pal: his truck, which was the shuttle to the top, refused to start this morning, while I happily fixed mine at the bottom. It's been running nice and cool all day LOL

Meat: thanks for the link, that comes recommended by a few people now.
