American Fork Canyon Sep 20

a great time was had by all. We met up wtih "Heavy18" @ the parking lot and headed up Mineral Basin. We all made it up and back without any major damage. Unless you consider ripping a valve stem from the rim major damage. From there we headed down to Forest lake trailhead. "Heavy18" headed home and missed all the fun. I'm not a big fan of mud, bud we couldn't resist the bogs at the lake. We ended up sinking one Jeep, and I broke a rear shock mount. We headed back just in time to load up the rigs and drive home in the monsoon. At least the rain helped wash some of the mud away. I haven't got any pics yet, but I will post them as soon as I get them. Would like to see the pics that H18 took. Thanks for joining, we had a great time.

Hey guys, thanks for letting me join in! We had a blast, too bad we missed the mud...

Anyway, here are some pics, I thought we got some good ones, but when I looked at them we only really got a couple that were any good...

That was my first trip in the XJ and I'm pretty happy with the way everything worked... I found that I definitely need a new muffler, that stock one is just WAY too big and WAY too close to my drive line...

Oh, and thanks for the pointers on some of your mods, I need to get that "hydro-boost-brake" or whatever that was called... (Does anyone have a link for a write-up on that?) I was noticing that when I threw it into reverse on a slope I had to be standing on that brake and nimble with the shifter :eek2: of course, I really need to swap out the fluid and put in SS lines, which I'll be doing Tuesday.

I'm sure I'll be seeing you again on another trail sooner or later!

of course, the "air-up" at the end of the day! :)
