The NAXJA Intermountain Chapter has a planned run on June 15th. Anyone know what the trail conditions are like in Mineral Basin? I suspect some snow........

I'd only be able to do sunday this week, which I know a lot of you guys don't. As far as trails go I don't really know since I just moved into the area.

I ran mineral basin with a group of jeeps last Monday. The trail was in good shape with a decent amount of runoff water in places. We did run into some snow but it was pretty far up into the basin, and we could still complete all the fun obstacles on the trail before we hit snow. Definitely worth the trip.

Okay, good to know.

Since my post looking for anyone to run with me, a customer contacted me about another topic... and soon we began to discuss going Jeeping (he bought a JKU from me last year). He may be available on Wednesday, though he hasn't yet told me exactly when. I'm hoping I can get all three of us together.

I'll let you know in this thread once I find out.

As of saturday Mineral basin is passable up to the part where the trail passes the vehicle sized ditch on the left. There is a snow pile at the very end of where that ditch and the trail converge that i attempted to cross but it got sketchy quick so i ended up having to winch over. It wasnt worth it because about 100 feet after that there was 10+ feet of snow blocking the patch.

The trail itself is basically a river in spots. Definitely fun though.

2 years ago it was starting to flood up into the Aspen trees.

I have a kick ass picture from years ago where it was above the trees, it's in black and white and taken with film if you guys remember what that is. I'll see if I can find it and scan it
