Well, even though we are in 'summer' season the virus concerns have kept our closing time to 8pm (at least for a while). If we want to try the net again, I may be able to be net control assuming we start around 8:30-9:00pm. Shall we go for Wednesday night again, like before?
I'm game.

so I have been playing around with APRS and I bought a small 10 watt handheld and I connected it to a magnetic antenna on my VW.... with the app APRSdroid and a small TNC I was able to hit the shepard peak I-Gate from Evanston! then not again until I hit just before Croyden on I-84.

This is pretty fun and to send messages while on APRS is great! I see allot of applications for APRS.

seeing I work in Evanston and there is no digipeater or I-gate there I looked to see what it would take to build my own. I found this video where you can take a baufeng radio, raspberry PI and a software defined radio and build your own. So seeing I have the radio already I bought the rest for lest then $80 off amazon. I will be building this and playing with it once completed. It can be made portable with a few batteries and an ammo can and solar panel.
