agenda

This trip is still on of course. Here is the tentative plan:

8 May (Sat) arrive Moab at Riverside Oasis
9 May (Sun) open to what the group wants to do
10 May (Mon) open to what the group wants to do
11 May (Tues) Pickle, Mashed Potato (moderate trails easily done in a day)
12 May (Wed) Poison Spider and Eagles Dare (moderate) (i've not done Eagles Dare but i'm told its scary with steep climbs and lockers are likely mandatory) then return to poison spider.
13 May (Thurs) Kane Creek (easy) this is fun for kids imo
14 May (Fri) Pritchett Canyon then Hunter Canyon-Behind Rocks (backward) (hardest) we'll probably park our car haulers at the campground at behind the rocks on this day.
15 May (Sat) Area BFE (Green Day, others?) (Hardest, or come to watch). Since it's all in 1 place, a guy can park there and see everything.
16 May (Sun) Hells Revenge in morning(easier), leave Moab after lunch (if my junker is broken badly, then i will wake up and head out) haha

We can run Kane Creek or Metal Masher on 8 or 9 May if the group wants to.
Or i'm open to running easier/moderate trails on those days. Since there are plenty of harder trails to do later in the week, this may be a good time to run easier stuff. When i say trails are easier/moderate that is my unofficial ranking of them. I'd suggest you as an individual rank the trail yourself to see if your vehicle is up to it. For example we've all seen rental jeeps run Hells Revenge. However i've seen an open yota pick up on 36s have a very difficult time on tip over challenge.

For all those that are interested in tagging along with us, feel free to PM me for my phone # and meeting place. We'll meet every day somewhere in Moab around 9 am and head out from there.

I've been with the military over 20 years. Not bragging...all i'm saying is i'm trained in vehicle recovery, safety, etc. I will leave nobody behind and will do everything in my power to ensure your vehicle gets off the trail. We'll all stay together. Safety is number one with me. I've been with groups before that will leave your a$$ behind. That's not me. With all that said...
this is not an official run so I am not responsible legally or morally for you or your decisions. I do not expect anyone is responsible for me. But what I will do: taking charge and providing leadership is in my nature. However I will offer leadership only where it's desired or needed. I do not impose myself on others. My intent is for my group of friends to wheel together, and we welcome strangers who probably be like friends after the day is done. We will be a self sufficient group with tools, multiple winches, straps, tire plugs, some spare parts, etc.
What you (the participant) must do: bring spare parts for your vehicle; ensure your vehicle is well maintained every day, know what your vehicle is capable of, let the group know if you are uncomfortable with a situation (ie take a winch or strap), and don't choose a trail that you think you cannot do. For example, a stock CJ should likely not run pritchett canyon. I've seen it done of course, and it's okay with an experienced driver who knows what he's into. You know what i'm getting at :)
Understand that wheeling should be fun. I would not want to drag your stocker thru pritchett canyon because 1. you may break it, you may dent it, and you will not have fun.

now let's have some fun in Moab!:D

Replied to your PM. I will see what I can work out to stay down there longer, my lady friend has to be back up here the 9th but I will see what I can do to stay down a few more days.

As stated in my pm... the Girl friends daughter roller her jeep on easter causing 8400+ dollars of damage... lucky for us the insurance will cover all but the $500 deductible so there went my Moab trip money... lol

Have a Great time down there and drink a few for me!

Sorry to hear it, but Moab will always be there for future trips. At least it's better than having that happen in Moab. I remember that XJ that rolled last May on the weekend of the BBQ, my heart sank when I saw it going out on a flatbed. I will likely be going down again for Memorial Day, Labor Day, and in October.
