This is getting rediculas. I believe this is the fourth or fifth death right here in the last 2ish years

On my way home there were fire trucks, cops, ambulances and UTA trucks blocking off the crossing by my house. Went to the next crossing and sure enough, look up the tracks and see a white sheet.

At least they know that this was a suicide.

My heart goes out to ALL the people that this lady has affected and changed lives forever.

Yep, got guys out washing the train now then I can inspect and download the event recorder.

Sad deal for sure.

Cheston, I was probably there when you drove by, but the camaro was hiding behind a firetruck.

You're responsible for downloading the event recorders? I thought that was management's job. Unless of course you're in a higher position then I last knew.

You know what's weird? The last guy we got back in March, no one ever talked to us. A lady cop came up and asked us our names, but no road foreman, no downloads, no statement, nothing. :-\

I remember this *link* happening shortly after my accident and I commented to myself that this guy was put through the ringer for something that was clearly not his fault, and when I had my accident all I got was a week off paid to collect my thoughts.

This never happened to me.

The driver has been placed on administrative leave and will undergo drug and alcohol testing as required by the agency's administrative procedures following a critical accident

I hope UTA, or its employee's union provides for some kind of counseling. I know I'm a whack job in my own little way, but when you're involved in something as intimate as someone's death, it helps to be able to talk to someone. Put it this way, my phone rang off the hook the day of my last accident. Constantly!!!

Sad! :(

All of our mechanics are trained to do accident reports and downloads. I makes it easier when anyone can respond. Its really no different than any other inspection. Luckily for me, there wasn't much on the train to see, even before it was washed.

They do provide counseling, and 3 days off. Although I would not want to sit around and think about it.

I would think for legal reasons that management would have to be involved in that. In the case of Class 1 railroads, I know there's also a "chain of custody" issue to prevent any chance of any video being posted on sites like YouTube. Does Frontrunner have any cameras installed?

Same as I get. For me this last time it was my Monday. Paid for that trip for being pulled out of service, and paid for lost earnings for my next trip I missed. No drug or alcohol testing though.

It's an experience!!!!!
