Ok we all know that stuffing 40 inch tires under a small truck with flexi springs is gonna cause some major axle wrap..... Well Trail Gear sells all the components to build a fix for this problem but its some giant secret on the specs.... I have an 87 runner with every thing you can do to it and still be toyota..... I am running 40 inch TSLs and alcan springs... Does anyone have any dimensions for the tube lengths or angles or the front mounting locatiojn and components? I hate to sound stupid but I only wana build this once.

Two points at the axle, seperated vertically some amount. (say, 6" or more) One attachment to the frame through a shackle. Typically that's attached to the horsecollar crossmember. The remaining dimensions aren't terribly critical.

I'll post pics of my 4runner's traction bar a bit later.

The biggest thing I learned after installing mine is that I wish they had less angle so that my antisquat was not so high. I will be fixing this by lowering the rear someday when I get around to it.

Mine uses sloppy farm-type heim joints that allow the threads to be adjustable. 1-rh thread, 1-lh thread. I think that is pretty basic though...

you would just figure that by now someone would just make a damn kit.

You mean like this one? http://www.budbuilt.com/new/traction_bars.html

OK, here's some pics I promised to post like 5 days ago.

They're nearly invisible camera-phone pics, but here they are anyway. It's kinda weird compared to many, since my goal was to not have to re-do the upper mount if/when I decide to link up the rear end.

Here's a pic of one I built. Since I made it out of shop scraps it aint purdy, but it worked well. I used old CJ spring hangers and a shackle so replacement bushings would be easy to get, but I never did need to replace any.

Also, here's the pic BC neglected to post here, for those too lazy to click on the other thread and search for it. (like me until just now...)
