We're looking at some options... I'm wondering about the cost of pouring a basement? Is there a formula for estimating the prices?

I'm not a concrete guy, but know enough to get myself in trouble.

Calculator for figuring out how much you need:

I'm not sure on the price of concrete, My sister poured her basement a few months back and I think she said it was $100/yard. Check with the concrete company because I'm probably wrong.

That helps, thanks! $100/yd sounds about right... expensive, but right.

Half of our basement was a dirt crawl space and it took 4.5 yards to pour it. $500 + a pump $250.

 Right on the $100/yd figure, thanks!

You got off cheap. I've poured 12 yards this summer for more RV parking using the U-Cart method. $125 a yard (the 2 yard tumbler carts are pretty sweet). But, if you factor in the cost of a pump, it's really sixes. Not to mention, pouring and finishing two yards at a time by myself is enough work for one day. Been worth it though, all my crap is in the back yard and out of sight. The neighbors have stopped the petition to kick my butt out of the hood as well.

The next phase is a 12 yard monolithic pour. That one I'll hire out (I'm too old and lazy to work that hard any more).

Totally!!!

I once helped a guy finish a basement, and old master mason, and he made me mix all the mortar and cement by hand. For the whole basement. I really, REALLY value even the little mixers now LOL

We poured our cabins foundation and it was over $200 a yard because of where we were at  Plus $250 to rent a pump truck. Then my dad underestimated and we had to have them come out again and we were over by a couple yards and didnt have anything formed up so we had to waste it. Plus another $250 for the pump truck again. Concrete is fun
