Been using them on our crawler hauler for almost a year. More $ than other options, but awesome customer service and very high quality product.

Chains rule. Macs should be good stuff, though.

I have to agree. I've loaded plenty a low boy with tractors back when I worked at a rental yard in Oregon, chains were by far our number one choice to load heavy equipment and keep them strapped down. You can get plenty tight with chains and binders and I would venture to guess they could hold just as well as the Mac straps when you lift up a trailer like they did in Moab. It's not like they are really putting any real road forces on that load when they pick up the trailer anyway.

Chains are the only way to go with heavy equipment for sure. But when I load my jeep I prefer the macs strap to wrap around my axles I don't like the idea of chain around my brake lines. I may have a extra set I'd let go I'll check tomorrow if you want.

Heck yeah, please see if you have them. Is it a set of 4 with the axle straps?

A little late to the party but, I have two sets of Mac's tie downs. I have used just about everything else but, Mac's has the complete package. No more getting one piece here and another piece there. Very nice stuff and I would recommend them to everyone.

I run the regular 2" yellow ratchet straps from cal ranch, but, I use Mac's axle straps and I love the quality. Well worth the price difference to get Mac's IMO.

This thread IS NOT for debating chains versus straps, there is a 10 page thread in the towing section for that. This thread IS for feedback about using the Mac's strap setup.

Excuse me, I wasn't asking for ANYTHING FREE, quite the opposite actually. If I can buy something local I would prefer to, as Mac's straps are mostly made to order and are about 8 days out. Thanks....
