Allergies normally bother me, but so far so good this year. My hippie remedy is local-grown honey. The bees make honey out of the plants I'm allergic to, and the honey helps me fight those allergens (don't ask my how, I"m no allergisicist).

Something amazing happened since Fri. afternoon. I switched to WalMart generic Allegra and all of my symptoms are gone... all
pretty obvious to me that these drugs are somewhat personal to your body chemistry....

Up your vitamin D big time. Seriously. If you have a D deficiency it will take a month or two to build it back up properly but it's a big player with autoimmune (allergy) issues.

I used to take the claritin and whatever patent pharma junk. Never again, shit messed with my heart rate and other things way too much. I also did the shots thing when I was younger. Yeah, I sound like a hippie but you'd be surprised.

Allergies are a beast to cover. Claritin as well as other allergy medications will mess with your heart rate because the receptors that it antagonizes or opposes will also have affect other parts of your body. It is an H1 receptor antagonist which may also have effects on your blood vessels, central nervous system, and mucus secretion for respiratory system in short.

As for Vitamin D, I have read a little on the use for allergies and it is a hit or miss, just like any other medication... :D

This is the only allergy med that I recommend. It has the least chance for sedation compared to all of the others, so it is great for day use.

Wow,

Imagine that, roughly a year later and the same problem is back. I just took the Wal-Mart Allegra, let's hope it works as well this time.
