well rear axles out of trucks and suvs are all the same price...I believe they are about $100 a piece...I cant say I have specifically seen an 8.8 but I'm sure there are some in there...in pickups not explorers, I dont think I have ever seen an explorer in the pick n pull either...

nope the pickups dont have disc brakes and they are usually around 65" wide instead of 60" or so like the explorers...only 95 or newer explorers have discs and you dont usually see anything that new in the pick n pull...

I'm a firm believer that the 44 is better than the 8.8...plus its a lot easier and cheaper to find then the 8.8 too...and parts are usually cheaper and you have a lot more gear selection in the 44...JMO

well there are so many vehicles its hard to say what specifically...whats it going into and what is your desired width??? something I took into consideration when I chose my 14 bolt was look at the vehicle and think about if it could have lived a hard life...for example a 14 bolt out of a C&C tow truck has had a lot harder life(always loaded to its max...etc)then my 14 bolt that came out of a Suburban...another thing to consider is bolt pattern and are you doing the front too...
