TTC was insane this year. Very high quality rigs and drivers. All except the Fj and the purple ranger deserved to be there.
The Ranger was a dedicated mud truck. Not 2" of suspension travel.
I was dissapointed in the FJ. They talked so much crap of how much they were going to beat on it, tear it up, chop unneeded body off on course, and basically just trash it. It was very boring on every event. It was like watching somomone wheel their new Rubicon on the way home from the dealership. All he did was bounce off the rev limiter the whole comp. I guess that is beating on a rig for the Ultimate adventure. I think the voters had something else in mind.
As for the Durango...all 10 showed so we didnt get to compete. They let us run the tow test, frame twister, mud pit, and tank trap. We did really good in the tow test and the motor stumbled. I think 4th place from what I heard. Frame twister went well until the logs. He jumped it and when we landed the motor died (de ja vu) After messing with it a couple minutes we found a broken coil wire. Stripped it, wrapped it around the coil and got out with 10 seconds to spare! Broke the rear driveline on the last bounce out. The motor stumbled again in the mud pit so we didnt do to well.
Tank trap went perfect until the canyon. The canyon was way worse this year than last. He broke the short side inner chromo. We winched up a ways and at the last hard part of the canyon the batterys died. Alternator had stopped charging so we were stuck. Not an easy extraction and ended up breaking the long side front shaft as well.
This will be a great video to buy. Lots of roll overs and great runs. Lots of air as well.
Good part is Corey can enter again!
