Anyone know anything about Volvo's?

192K. Miles and there is still cross hatching on the cylinder walls. I'll drop the head off at a machine shop and degrease everything.

I've sworn off buying cars with blown head gaskets because I'm the guy that always seems to find rusted out cylinders once the head is removed :ugh: Looks like you struck a good deal with this one.

I've always wanted a Volvo. Let us know your impressions of it once she is up and running again

I hope it's not a pile. I think I'm into it for about $650 currently.

Machine work will cost $55.

Then I need a front fender and a driveshaft. So probably another $300

On the bright side my wife bought me a new 1/2 torque wrench and a new set of metric ratchet wrenches yesterday.

Well, I got the head back on Friday. I bolted it on to the block. Now I just have a lot more to finish. Picked up a rear driveshaft today at the junkyard for $300. Ouch.

They only found a little warpage on one corner. they were able to get it all out and cleaned the head. I supplied some valve stem seals and had those replaced at the same time.
