UNSTUCK
But stuck more often.
After getting a few items on the Jeep fixed, I piled the family in the Jeep and headed up to the B around 430pm. It was crazy up there! The entire street before the parking area was just about blocked in with snowmobilers. I'm sure glad I don't live on that street. After getting through that mess, and just getting past the last house, a guy stopped us, advising us that it was no use to go any further. The parking area was jam packed with stuck trucks and trailers. We could look up there and see guys pulling each other out. One guy told us that some one slid into another guy and that guy slid into him, and took out the whole side of his truck.
So we just pulled over to the side of the "road" just past the last house and set out for a little sledding. Our girls got some tubes from Santa so we had to try them out. Right over the berm where we parked was a nice little hill. I was the lucky one that got to break trail. After eating more snow then I would have liked and almost totally covering myself with snow on the way down, we had a good run formed. I'm guessing there was over 2 feet of fresh powder right there, with no base. It didn't take long to find grass under there.
Anyways our first family sledding event of the year was a good one. I enjoyed watching all the guys pulling each other down the road to get to where we were at. We didn't even bother to go up to the parking area so I can just imagine what it was like up there.
I'd guess in a week or two it would be awesome to do a snow run up Ward Canyon. In a previous snow run up there I remember eating lunch in a nice open field with a bit of a hill. I wonder if a large sledding party/snow run up there would interest anyone?
