South-East Utah April RME Monthly Trip - Moab, UT

For the month of April we're going to hit Moab, for the RME Trip!

  • April 20th, 21st & 22nd
  • What kind of 4x4 trip? Rock Crawling, challenging and difficult.
  • We can determine what trails we're going to run based on who is interested and who shows up.
  • Meeting place TBD.
  • Minimum vehicle needs; 35's, lockers F & R are HIGHLY recommended based on trails as well as body protection.
  • Group Size... smaller groups would be better for this one. We can split up to spread the load.
  • Stay where you want, we can meet up and hang out, plan, etc.

I'm not sure if I'll bring the JKU or the Flatty, but if the JKU then I would like to run Kane Creek, Moab Rim possibly the Pickle. Open to other suggestions, don't want to beat up my JKU though, so Helldorado is out.

Who is interested in a April Moab Trip?

It was an interesting 30 minute meeting. We’ll see how things go next week. Kind of a bad combination of events led me to think it wise to do my part to get production going. That part required me to bail for home. 90 minutes later I was “probably “ ok to stay but we were already at Crescent Junction and planning for the April RME run.

As I am able to build/train my team, this shouldn’t happen but we are just not there yet. I’m not sure I had the answers to the questions posed at 7:20 am and I had to make a judgment call. This caused me to miss a vacation with my daughter (that isn’t getting any younger) but led to some good discussion on the way home about responsibilities and priorities.

If I can make this, I will be free camping out in the Dalton Wells or WIllow Springs Rd area. I would love to do Kane Creek or Moab rim even though I have a few times already. Both are fun. The Pickle I cracked my hard top on a few weeks ago so be ready to take the top off on that one... I got lucky, mine is minor, have seen some bad top gouges from there...

Kane Creek and the Moab Rim sound good to me, I'll probably still have my hardtop on at that point and don't really want to damage it, so the Pickle may be out for me and my JKU.

That’s kind of what I’m thinking. Wondering what rig I’ll bring down. Probably the “Jeep” but I might have the MJ done by then? My boss is in town early that week so I’m not sure if I’ll get time to button up the MJ before then. Saturday should be pretty productive again for it.

I’m slacking and watching Jazz hoops tonight. Got as far as the couch after work
