aussie locker

Has anyone had any experience with the aussie locker? They say that you can steer just fine with one of these in the front. This is my biggest concern. Thanks, Wayne

I've had an Aussie in my D30 for over a year now. Offroad it works great. Onroad they are almost invisible. The only thing you'll notice is a slight clicking when you turn sharp while going slow. Great inexpensive locker IMO.

Everything I've heard about them has been good. I will probably be running at least one in my TJ.

i run one in the back of my toyota. works great, no problems so far. been there more than 1.5 years.in the front it may effect steering, esp on the street if you do not have manual hubs.

We put one in the front of my brother's YJ with a solid TJ shaft so it is always locked in front and it drives fine around town and turns easy when its powered in 4wd also. Best luchbox locker out there.

I have ran a Lock-Rite (exactly the same only different :hickey: ) for years now, and have kept telling myself "when it goes out I'll go Detroit". I have nothing but good things to say about it. It unlocks when it should and doesn't when it shouldn't end of story.

I'm the only one out of my friends that runs one, everyone else runs spools even in the front! They say I wasted my money....

BTW: If you end up getting one try mixing up some Lucas oil stabilizer (pretty rich at least 60/40) in with your gear lube. If you don't you'll wish you had it is a night and day difference ;)

I've been pleased with mine, no problems whatsoever. I've been running one in my Dana 44 front axle. It works great, was easy to install & inexpensive. At times the front end will bind & be difficult to turn, but that's to be expected.
