Amazingly limped away from this. Doctors said I shouldn't be alive. I'm embarrassed and ashamed of the poor riding you're about to see. Wreck was completely avoidable. We were in the town of Puntarenas. Area we were in was just block after block. We had been hitting stop signs and then this intersection didn't have any.. so I thought ok just ride on through, other road must have a stop sign. Running on maybe 4 hours of sleep so judgement wasn't sharp. Before I even saw the car I felt a pit in my stomach and knew I made a mistake. It just felt wrong. Turns out there are no stop signs at that intersection. Other driver was at fault due to speed and the simple fact that they were the one to hit me..
Hospital was pretty sketchy, but a 20min ambulance ride, X-rays, cast, and lots of stitches only cost $137. Flew home to the US a few days later and had 2 screws put in my ankle.
