Axial Wraith...anyone have one yet?

Ok, ran three full battery cycles tonight. One word, FUN!

I pulled the wraith out of the box, and was sad the batteries and charger not included. I purchase two lipo cells and a charger. Cost I didn't think to plan on :)
I completely spaced it.

It's still an awesome RC for the price.

Definitely needs a few upgrades, front steering.. Knuckles, control arms and 4 link.

Possibly a bigger motor, but the motor that comes with it has lots of torque.

Edit performs fantastic on real rough terrain, I can see the cheap shocks needing to be replaced although they perform adequate.

Yeah, get titanium or delrin links. I put aluminum on my AX10 and they are gouged pretty good with only a few small runs on them. Couple things you will want to do is get a Castle BEC (makes a huge difference), I upgraded the servo on mine to a Savox 1256tg...HUGE improvement. I bought my batteries from www.hobbypartz.com. I bought the GenAce ones and I'm completely happy with them, and they ship quite quickly too (from California).

I'm thinking about pickup up another crawler, debating between the Losi Comp Crawler and the Axial XR10...hmmm :p

That sucks, the hobby shop will have the bolt you're looking for. While you're at it, you should replace the inner c's and outer knuckles with some aluminum ones, they will end up broken if you don't :)

Also, make sure you didn't loose the bushing, there should be a little bushing/spacer thing that slides in from the bottom up. If you pull the bottom screw out, it will have the same space.

Yup, you will need the metal bushing. Most of the aluminum links I run (axial machined on my XR10) work great, and I have never had really horrible problems with them. But titanium would be your best bet.

X2 on the BEC. They give your servo a lot more power!!

Oh and Caleb, XR10 hand down man!!! :) I LOVE mine, they flat out rock! Don't get the losi!!! When that first came out, people bought them up like crazy, and hated them. More problems and issues than they were worth. Some companies made MOA (motor on axle) kits for these, but it didnt hold up to the competition of the then released enRoute berg.

Get either a berg, or an XR10. You'll love them.

All you guys should come to Low Range's show and shine. We're doing RC courses, and such. Should be a lot of fun.

What's a BEC? I do feel the need for it to be faster
I don't want to lose a ton of low end torque tho.

Those knuckles and steering are getting replaced, then shocks!

The BEC separates your power to your servo. It makes it so it no longer goes through your ESC and instead goes straight from the battery to the servo. You get quicker turning and lots more power when turning. The Castle come stock supplying 5.1 volts, which is fine, but if you buy the programmer too, up it to 6 volts, it makes a difference.

Good to hear on the XR10, I was starting to lean that way anyways.

Steering servo = crap

So on my list to order

Steering Servo ( stripping out )
Steering links ( too soft for my likes )
knuckles ( look weak, just waiting to see one pop )
Suspension Links ( starting to re "form")
Shocks (cheaply built, still working tho)
BEC ( id like to tweak my voltage a little )

Good to hear! If your going to get a new servo, look into atleast a hitec 645MG and up from there. I personally on my comp rig run a JR 9100 digital high torque servo. (just over 400oz of torque w/o a BEC, with the BEC, some more) but it is spendy. Once you get into the 300-400oz torque digital/robotic servos, the price shoots way up. The JR servos can be anywhere from 100-250. But worth every penny.
