Axle guess

Ok, axle guessers....need help. What axle is this and what gearing ratio do you think it might have?

Oh it's in a 1999 Chev Silverado 1500

For sure 10 Bolt. Hard to say on the Gear ratio, but 3.73 is probably right. (Not to doubt you Medsker.)

What tranny is in the truck? 4wd? The Window sticker (If you still have it) should tell you the ratio, there might be a tag on the diff cover with the info, too.

Agreed 10 bolt, as for gears i'd say 3.05 or 3.73

it has the same number of bolts as my 60.... so it must be a 60

10-bolt got it! Thanks! At least I'll be close on the gears.

As for tranny, I never looked. Guy bent the housing over a rock and was just curious was axle and ratio it was for him. Didnt' think to look elsewhere for the info. My first thought was, "I'll go to RME, there's a wealth of knowledge there"
