Here's one I found while working near historical site near Vernal. It looks pretty darn old to me. It had about 2.30:1 gears. Anyone know what its from?

That thing is ancient, I'd guess that it's from the 40's. No idea what it is though, drop-out 3rd member so that could narrow it down, for those in the know.

I thought the drop-out third member was interesting combined with the removable diff cover. It looks to me like it may have had wooden wheels. It was also pretty narrow, about 4.5 feet wide.

Someone look at the 4th picture and tell if that would have been how wooden wheels would be mounted to and axle, or what kind wheel it was. I've never seen anything like it.

I realized I forgot to take the spider gears into consideration, the gears were more like 4.60:1. The one side was froze up. I posted this on the Antique Auto Club of America's forum and so far they don't know. Any ideas where else I could post it?

Ok.. so I am thinking this is a axle made by Western Spring and Axle Company.. they were producing axles in the 1917s for many Detroit auto makers and such..
