That means as it leaks it fill up the tube,,, if you don't check the diff fluid often this could leave you lower than you want to be. Also, there is a ton of shet that get's inside the tube,, will this allow it to float back and forth after awhile?

Fix it right, that's what I say.

My YJ had the same problem a while ago, but mine was leaking on the passanger side. I did it myself but it was a HUGE pain in the a** and it started leaking again like a month later:mad: . So I took it to the dealer (HUGE MISTAKE!!!) and had them fix under my extended warranty. They had to pull the diff out to get the inner seal fixed and then they didn't torque the bearing caps properly and now I am stuck with a busted front ring gear.!

Shawn, good points. It is possible to get the tube pretty clean by swabbing it out with lots of brake cleaner and rags. Fill it up and drive it a little, then check it again and refill. It's sure a lot less work to put seals on the ends of the tube!

Thanks for all the info guys!!

I just broke the centering pin on my passengerside rear leaf pack. That was interesting... I was wondering why I was rubbing on everything, found out the whole pack shifted forward except very bottom and very top leaves (2 out of the 6 stayed in place!!!) The other 4 were above the spring perch on the frame.

The axle shifted pretty severely and my driveshaft is vibrating like crazy with the angle off really bad now.

The passenger side shifted like 3" backwards while driverside shifted about 3" forward. Because of that I bent out the passenger side quarter panel really bad.... I guess it's time to buy TJ flares and use the sawzall!!!! :D
