Ballistic 609 freebie update

So like over a year ago I won a giveaway for a Ballistic 609 axle housing and my choice of semifloat rear ends, or Reid inner C's for a front. Kind surprised me, and them I think, since I had been pretty critical of some of "their" designs, I know Shane remembers LOL.. Anyway, at the time, they were just barely rolling this out, and since I was considering putting this under a fullsize somethingorother, I wanted some upgrades in thicknesses that they weren't quite ready for. Not a biggie, it's a free housing, and besides, I can't use any part unless it's been here at least a year anyway.
Then I went to Afghanistan, and kept in touch over the summer and fall.. And then I saw them at EJS, and they are all up to speed with the thicker stuff and everything's cool, PLUS they're making them differently with a better center section. Sweet! Call and get it ordered up!

As of right now, I have on order a passenger-drop, 3/8"wall tubed, 3/8" mounting face w/studs, 55" wide (36"D 19"P off the pinion center) axle housing on its way, with Reid inner C's to go with it. Shipping is $138. I am not sure at this writing what the production time will be, but I'm still in no hurry and I'll know more soon.

I need a FJ40 buggy now, and some cash for Whyjae's Detroit'ed diff.

Stay tuned. I am fair, and expect that this will be a smooth transaction. So far everything's gravy.

Well, they've got a pending charge on my card for the shipping. We'll see Monday when they're shipping it out. So far so good.

Box of Reid inner C's arrived Monday. They're really pretty. I'm glad I didn't have to pay for them though, the box isn't that big. hahahah

EDIT: by "willing" I mean, "willing to shell out for custom inner axles and a 9" diff", not "I don't want to use it cuz it's a POS", because say what you want about Ballistic, but this thing isn't flimsy.

latest update: Axle was going to be finish-machined last Friday, and sent out but I would have been out of town, so I told them to hold off a couple days. As of this afternoon, it's on a truck and should be here middle of next week. Woo hoo
