Barrett Lake/Rubicon

My neighbor TRNDRVR and I headed to Cali for what was going to be Barrett Lake, Rubicon and then Fordyce Creek trail runs. Today I will post the Barrett Lake pics and I will do the Rubicon in the next couple of days. My CJ was in no shape to do Fordyce but I will get to that later.

The Barrett Lake trail was very scenic ending at the lake and coming out the same way. We did the 4 mile trail in about four hours and set up camp. Man what a spot! I could have spent a few days there but this was just a warm up for the Rubicon. What a tough warm up! We both had issues after this trail that required a trip to a shop for some repairs.

Here is the entrance. As you can see it is tight fit.

And......

Coming back out. I should have backed up and taken a better line but my drivers tire was coming down so thought I would be ok. The passenger side dropped faster and over I went. No damge was done though.

We've talked about doing the Dusy too. Maybe over the next couple of years we will get out there and try it.

What'd be really nice about doing the Dusey is my parents live only about 20 minutes from the trail-head.
