battery not charging at highway speeds

So my voltmeter shows about 10v at highway speeds, with the dim headlights to match. All is well below 50mph. Cable connections at battery, alt. and ground straps are good. Thoughts?

voltage regulator? when mine was going bad it would do that, the faster i went the lower the volts.

All good logical next steps, thanks guys. I was on my way to the airport, where I am currently waiting for takeoff.. will check it out when I return. My money's on the 3yr old reman alternator dying... but maybe not!. Problem showed its head on the way to Moab, but this is now a constant problem, which also makes me think its the alternator....

I doubt the belt's slipping, tensioner is good, serpentine system... that was my first thought as well though
