just thought you should know that there is a bunch (like, 2 coffee cans full) of 70-something rod, and some other rod under that big box of 6013 you gave me. Some of it is junked, but there is a bunch of stuff with a reddish coating, any idea what it is?

welder still sitting where I rolled it, haven't even looked at it yet... too damn much else to do!

If I remember right, it's old 6013... Garbage, just toss it.

I have seen a lot of red 6010 no different just a red color.

Yeah, it WAS red in the 80's..... If it is "70 something", it's 7018 rod. Take the best stuff, stick it in the wife's oven for a tad, and use it to learn on. When you can get a good bead going with that, try some brand new outta the box stuff and you'll be a pro.
