I am selling a Behemoth Shorty attached to a Dana 300 with a rear driveshaft and one cable that could be used to shift the Behemoth. $1350 OBO for everything.
Behemoth/Jacob went away a while ago, the main issue people had with him is that he could never deliver products on time. It is essentially this box, but built by someone else;
http://www.northwestfab.com/NWF-EcoBox-i-Billet-Planetary-Doubler-Case-Dana-300-Specific_p_2666.html
So this setup uses the gear driven Dana 300, but replaces the input shaft and bearing with the planetary setup from a np231. So the overall length is pretty much the same as a stock np231.
The Dana 300 has a low range of 2.61:1 and the low range of the np231 is 2.71:1, this gives a double low range of 7.0:1!
We setup this case in my father-in-laws TJ, it made some bad noise on the test drive and the stock case was put back in, since then we have re-geared his axles and he has decided that he doesn’t want/need the complexity of this modification. He has over $1500 into this project and is abandoning it.
When I took apart the case I found we had forgot to put a bearing on the input of the np231 planetary, so the planetary would shift forward and backwards. There is no visible damage to the sun gear or the planetary set. (if you are worried about it, you could grab a planetary from any np231/np241 and install it)
This setup would bolt right into a TJ with a manual transmission, you would just have to figure out how to shift it. (My father in laws TJ has the 1” lift motor mounts and a 1” inch body lift, this may affect the rear driveshaft angle if you have a different setup)
I want to sell it whole.
This includes;
Behemoth, NP231 planetary, Dana 300 all assembled
New rear drive shaft
Cable that could be used to shift it
Mechanical shifters for the dana 300 that could help you fabricate your shifters
Other bits and pieces from the Dana 300 and the NP231.
