Skip the house payment

I'm liking my credit rating too much for that. :D (and I'm kinda wanting the 3 spd. Stak or the 4 speed Atlas)

Tax return? Plus the Economy Stimulus check???

Bummer about the break, at least you were out wheelin'.

Tax return is already marked for projects. I'm thinking I won't "stimulate" the economy with my check, just put it against the credit card that has somehow creeped up the last few months.

I'm just thinking about doing the HD output (should I do the front?) and getting a nice rebuild kit and making the D300 "new".

Add up everything it will cost you to build the 300 the way you want to, then see how close you are to buying a Stak or Atlas. If you're within half the cost I'd not spend my money on the 300.

Everybody I have ever heard of wished they bought a stak or atlas after upgrading the dana 300 for any serious money.

Good advice there. I've got the 27 spline input to match my 700R4. I've got a little in it ($600 total--add a HD output to that and I'm more than halfway to an Atlas), but thought I might get away with the stock output shaft. Apparently, I was incorrect. I'm not psyched to put more in it, but I don't know if the adapter I'm using will work with the Stak or Atlas II (I don't see why it wouldn't). If it won't, my drivelines will also have to lengthened/shortened.

Your adapter will be just fine, but you may need to address the drivelines anyway, cuz I think an Atlas is a bit longer than a 300. Front output should be in about the same place, but the rear will probably be further back. (unless you do a shorty output, but that eliminates the speedo)

Hey, you're not helping. :D I think I'm just gonna go with the HD output for the D300 and see where that gets me. Sounds like I'll be on the road earlyish tomorrow (limping a RamCharger home with a 9" issue) so just shoot me a PM on the pricing. :)
