Best Steak

The best steak by far in my opinion for SLC is at The Five Alls on foothill. The Filet of Oscar is THE BEST! My wife and I eat out alot and it's awesome. It's about $40 each but that is for a six course meal including dessert. Try it but don't let the secret out to just anybody.;)

I don't know about any of you but OUTBACK here in Orem is still number 1 on my list. When ever I go some where to get a steak it is ether a T-bone or Porter-house. I have been to Ruby River and I thought it was over priced and not to good of a steak also.

AMEN!!!! My thoughts exactly!!!!

Nothing beats OUTBACK!!!!:D

If it is an advertisement, it's not mine. But it's written up like a write up, so I dunno...

If you think Outback has a great steak, you are misinformed! Sorry, I like Outback, but their steak is definately not a big deal.

Carvers is decent, but over priced, IMO I'd rather go to Lonestar or Outback and save the $'s.

Prime rib is nothing more than a Rib Eye that is slow cooked. Slow cooking is not the way to make a good steak.

This is out of Salt Lake a bit, but The Maddox in Brigham City makes an awesome steak. Also in the same price range, but better quality as outback etc is Texas Roadhouse in Taylorsville.

Will flemmings let you eat peanuts and throw them on the floor? In my opinion steak should be a casual food that you eat and have fun doing so.

These go to 11
In my former life (with a corporate card and a van) I travled all over the west and ate on their dime. So I have had a ton of steaks form all over the west. What I can tell you is that it is easier to get good sushi then it is to get a good steak. The only place that wowed me is a bar in Sun Valley (Hailey) Idaho. The Red Elephant has my vote. Other than that just go to Meirs Meats and do it yourself.

This is true to an extent. I can make a damn good steak at home but you can't buy the premimum cuts like a steak house can. So even with good grilling kung foo your still working with a lesser grade of meet.

That's why you don't buy your meat at a grocery store. Just hit up a butcher around the valley (there are a lot of places) if you really want a good piece of meat.

Flemmings is pretty good. So is Christophers downtown. IMO the best steak in Utah is at Spencers in the Hilton. Get their special bone-in Ribeye. I think it's not on the menu. They serve the big family style sides also.

Best Prime Rib I've had in Utah is at Claim Jumpers in PARK CITY. Not the Claim Jumpers in Heber . . . that one isn't so great.

But seriously, it's on main street in park city, just down from the post office . . . Every time I'm in Utah we hit Claim Jumpers (as well as Cafe Rio, and the Eat-a-Burger by cottonwood mall . . . last one I believe). And the price is pretty reasonable too. About $20 for the small prime rib I think . . .

Are the Claim Jumpers a chain? Reason I ask is we have a large gift certificate that we recieved when we lived in Sacramento, but didn't use it when we moved out here. It would be nice to use it without going back out to Sacramento..... And yes, we did like going there, too. My wife's boss knew that, and for Christmas one year she gave her a $250 gift certificate there. It was always packed with a 2+ hr wait, so we've never used it.
