Better Turning Radius

I have upgraded to the SOA setup on my YJ and ever since I have had a really bad turning radius. What can I do to make my turning radius better? Is there a bolt on type pitman arm that will make it better? I can't go with a longer pitman arm so I am kinda stuck. I plan on doing a Hydro assist next year so should I wait until then and have someone tackle the problem then or is there something I can do now?

Suggestions?

this might sound like a dumb question, but is your steering wheel straight? What i mean is when your driving down the road or sitting with your tires pointed forward, is your steering wheel pointing the way it should be, or is it turned from one side to another?

It is cocked a little bit. It turns kinda tight one way, but almost no existent the other way. I know my draglink needs to be cut a little but I would like MORE turning out of it. The way it turns one way I would like it to turn like that plus some on both sides.

It sounds to me like your Drag link is a little too short. Take it off at the pitman arm, turn your wheel straight and then see how much longer it needs to be. Then visit one of your local friendly offroad shops that specialize in steering and give them an eye to eye measurement.

When I took it in to get it aligned they took off my steering wheel so they could make it straight. I told them that it was a modified setup and not to take off the steering wheel when I dropped it of. When I got back they were honking the horn so I asked what they were doing. They said "We had to take off the steering wheel it was way off". Freaking jackazzes, is there a easy way to get it back to stock, and how do I take off the steering wheel? It is a stock 91 YJ steering column.

Thanks Ohms good advice!

Pull the tre off at the pitman. Turn the box lock to lock, counting how many turns it takes, bring it back half way, the box is now centered. Pull the wheel off and and put it back on center. Be careful not to turn the shaft.
You will probably need a puller for the the wheel....AZ should have a loaner.

Now you can do what Holmer described to et a corret length.

BTW the shop you took it to are idiots!!!!
