so let's say you're me, and you have this pile of parts:

brand new 35's, rough-looking AT tread (Durango's! for $100, they work)
some lightly used MRW beadlocks.
A 60/14bolt combo w/4.56's and a Detroit in the back, and a disc kit too
a TBI 454
a TH400/205
a 203 from a TH400
some NOS Steel Horse Super Seats.

and you have a choice: put all that stuff in a Blazer and have a pretty decent bolt-together rig....

or sell it and buy an FJ40, which you've wanted since you were a little kid.

I'm leaning towards selling the Blazer. There is a lot of Chevy here right now and it's a little... similar. :eek:Bl

I voted for the Cruiser. BUT, the amount you could sell your Blazer for wouldn't buy much of an FJ40, would it?

voted for blazer b/c of the $$$ issue.

When you have the funds to do it right, get a FJ. Until then, enjoy what you have.

Besides, will you get out of the blazer what you put into it (or think it is worth)?

Ask yourself if the cruiser would ever really get done. To many people waste time on pipe dreams (me) instead of actually having a usable rig. If you really think youd get the cruiser done then do what youve always wanted. But if theres not a good chance of finishing it realisticly then the blazer.

Well what will make you happy? Wheel a nice rig (chevy) or chase the dream (FJ)? I say go for the gusto and chase the dream if you can get it done. Plus if you go with the FJ you can sell the D60/14 bolt to me ;)

good luck!

Run what ya brung, so to speak.

If I was still holiding out for a 40, which is still in the back of my mind, I would have some pusser econe box, and not a 4x4 at all.

I have and adequate 4x4, and can go wheel, so I would say build the blazer, and ya never know what may come.............

(17 year old inherited a virgin 40, and wants a big block under his right foot............. Its possible)

I can't seem to choose. As I have yet to see a finished vehicle out of your stable.

So thus do not know your skill level and am not sure you could handle anything beyond a bolt together rig. :p

I voted Cruiser not because I'm a big Yota fan (love Chevy's too), but because It's what you have always wanted. There is nothing better than wheeling and showing off in your favorite rig that you built from the ground up. Hold out for a good deal, and then built something you will truly be proud of, and want to keep for a great deal of time. Just my opinion :D

sell all the blazer parts including the axles to me. I can build a burban into a wheeling family rig, drop car payments completely, run my 40" groundhawgs and then drop the 350 TBI into MY fj60 cruiser sounds like a good solution to me. Two highly capable DD rigs and you can have your 40. I will even trade some 2F blocks to get you started.

I voted for the Cruiser but then I'm a bit prejudiced...

If the Cruiser is what you really want then you'll have a higher enthusiasm for the project and a better chance of finishing it.

Chase your dream and get the cruiser. Just make sure you got the cash to do it right. They aren't cheap. I would also go with the cruise since Blazer's width can be an issue at times.

If I were in your shoes I'd sell the Blazer and then stick to building the FJ40. You shouldn't have the problem of emtying every pocket like I do.:p
