Blower Blazer Build

It wasn't very fun. I was glued to the interweb; Facebook, news sites, summit's sites, etc, anywhere I could get an "info fix". It was worse though, for the folks that live up there. I think the rain yesterday took care of lingering hot spots. Edit: spoke too soon. Flare up this morning. Glad the firefighters are still there. Heavy rain needed.

And now I've got a gimp blazer at my house, along with a couple of sleds that probably want some carb attention. And I suppose the blower wants some lube and oil and flags and stuff.

I found a Detroit for a ff14 for a good price, so that gives me the option of an upgrade. I've also located some sf14 axle shafts at local wrecking yards, which is my preferred solution.

Got it all buttoned up and back up on the hill. Swapped in a shaft from Labrum's for $20. Bought a spare for $15.

Pretty cool carnage.

And now I have a Detroit laying around for the next project...maybe a full float 14 with 4.10's to swap in? Or sell?

Starting to think about blowing this winter. I need to sand and paint the inside of the chute and line it with teflon (or something?). I'll take some cardboard up this weekend and mock it up. No idea where to buy it in SLC area.

Not any kind of permanent coating, but I spray my snowblower chute with Pam (or similar) cooking spray before each use, at least when I remember. :D

Cardboard should be pretty easy to find in the SLC area. ;)
