blurr out faces?

Anybody know why they blurr out people's faces on tv shows. I have seen it 3 times tonight and noticed it on an episode of amazing race when they were in china. The people in Amazing Race were in a crowd of hundreds people.

It might be a shocker but I think he is correct on this one.

I think this may apply for some cases but I doubt that it does for others. For instance on Amazing Race they are not going to get signatures from thousands of people in a busy market place in China that only shows the individual for 2 seconds and some are still blurred.

Yeah, TV seems somewhat random in when they use the blur and when they don't.

Certainly there's no expectation of privacy to THAT level in a crowded public place.

I think this may apply for some cases but I doubt that it does for others. For instance on Amazing Race they are not going to get signatures from thousands of people in a busy market place in China that only shows the individual for 2 seconds and some are still blurred.

They are blocking out the ugly people, they don't want you to be too disgusted.

It's perfectly legal to recored VIDEO of people in public, but to record AUDIO you need a waiver.... orrrr you need to conceal their identity.
