Carl and I were on obstacle when that happened... I looked over and saw a rig jamming right up to the other... We took a time out needless to say... With all the EMT resources busy over there, we didn't want to risk another injury without personelle to assist us.

We rolled minutes later :(

Are you sure noone got hurt? That's pretty scary.... how long was he out for?
Yes, no one got hurt. If Joel Randall's rig wasn't parked where it was, things may have been different.

Things would have been WAAAAAAY different.... They had actually been asking for competitors to park their rigs in the staging area as spectators were complaining of the blocked view... thank goodness some didn't move.

Now some are considering kill switches (as the Hot Persuit team runs), similar to those on Monster Trucks...

Do you think the same thing would have happened if Bob had his harness on tight?

Not sure if you can see in the video, but Bob his his head HARD on the steering wheel... it busted up the front of his helmet, and bent his steering wheel... In the case of Carl's rig, when the harness is on tight... you CANNOT hit the steering wheel...

I do beleive this isn't the first time Standage has been knocked out...

that is ammazing!!!!

how did everyone manage to get out of the way?
how long before they require a kill switch. or something that will stop the vehicle after an impact like that.....
It's being discussed on the UROC forum.

Not bad enough for immediate medical care... they wanted to take Standage to the hospital, he refused. And the other guy that got ran over (as shown by the Krawler pattern on his shirt) didn't have any noticable injuries.

John Williams was telling me about it today at Mt. Logan Offroad. That sounds like it was quite an obstacle!

BTW. Congrats Johnny G and John W.

with this incident, do you believe they will install remote kill switch like the monster trucks have?

I know it may be a bit extreme of a solution, but the fact that those vehicles were there to absorb the crash, I think, is the only reason serious or fatal injuries were avoided.

That guy must be the one I spotted going under the tires... my first thoughts were crushing injuries to the chest or abdomen, so to say I'm shocked at his good fortune would be an understatement! Hopefully when I'm a nurse I can find a way to be on the medical staff at one of these events... :p

Sounds like that's what is going to happen from what I heard today.

So somebody did get hit by it? Any idea who? I love the part in that video where Josh walks by in front of the camera.

maybe some kind of remote kill switch that the spotter or an official would control. so if it gets to out of control, it can be stopped. but i can see it being a problem aswell, someone else with control of your rig, that sounds like trouble.

Each team would have to fork out 1100ish bones, and UROC would have to fork out about 5k, to get set up with monster truck style remote ignition interrupters.
