anyone ever make their own body bushings for a 1" body lift before? If so, what did you use?

Thanks,

4 wheel parts. they sell the lift pucks by themselves, as many as you want.did that on my yota. the guy at the counter didn't believe me till i showed him on their web site. pretty cheap too.

I made some to fit an old Bronco. I got some metal pipe (2 1/2 - 3") and welded some big washers on both ends. I ran them for years with no problems. I took them off last year because I changed my lift. If you still need some I'll give them to you. What are you lifting and how many body mounts does it have. I have 8 spacers. PM me if you are interested. Scott

1" x 3" square tubing.

Run it the length of the body,
front body mount to rear body mount on the side and across (paralell with the axles) for the back mounts
They should be pretty close to a straight line, with 3"
1 per side.
reuse body mounts,

I have done this on a couple of cjs,
Works great, gives you the lift and reinforces the tub.

I am not sure this will work on a Crusier or a comando.

good luck.
:D

:ugh: Both of these methods seem to have some safety issues. I'm glad they worked for those that might have tried it, but there are far better options.

I have used rubber rollers for boat trailers. They are about 2.5-3" in diamiter with a 1/2" hole. Even has a poly sleeve in it already....Go to any of the boat supply stores they come in about 12" long pieces, cut as needed....
Got some today..... sweet stuff :)
