bolt on stingers

First time I ever saw a stinger was on the discovery channel on those arctic trucks back in late 90's. They even showed why they have them. Kept the rig from falling into a crevice that appeared under his tires as he was cruising. They were very long and drawn out more forward than upward.

I remember watching this.

ok, so stingers are for:

(1) preventing your rig from falling into a crevasse in the arctic
(2) Keeping roadkill from coming through the windshield

Another idea...could be a place to hang wet laundry on to dry while camping??

Very good. Any other suggestions? If there are 2 or three more I might have to put one on my rig.

During the uroc days, I remember seeing moderately sized stingers being used by spotters with a pull rope. Quick access & leverage on climbs that needed that little extra.

I think that's when the started to show up in the rock crawling world the most.

Ya maybe I can have you weld something on real quick, but only if you put one on yours too. That would be the finishing touch on your buggy wouldn't it?

So this video demonstrates that in extremely rare instances when people decide to take the wrong line and not have a spotter, a stinger could potentially save them from endoing.
Thank you for your contribution.

If you and your buddy had one and you went camping you could hang a hammock from the two vehicles. There's another one jpest :) haha

It's his vehicle. Maybe he likes the stinger. And it would help from the animal deflecting up towards the windshield.

If you had a front receiver you could go with something like this-

I think I'd go with an ARB bumper or something custom.
