Yeah but Evel survived it relatively unscathed.

I was there, actually. Rode pillion on my Dad's '70 Bonneville 750 up there the night before and we just kind of tried to sleep on the ground. Only about 9 years old, and being the innocent Mormon lad that I was, not quite understanding all the stuff going on, but it was a very interesting experience and probably shaped some of my teenage tendencies. I might not have understood, but those folks did look to be having a good time.
