BUCKET LIST

Since I'm finally moving down in the next couple of weeks, I figured it was time to start a bucket list. I realize this could be a very long list with all of the trails in Utah. I think since I'm living in Layton, I'd like to hit some close by trails first then take some trips south as I see how my Range Rover does on the closer trails.

I have a 3" lift and 33" tires, 9500# winch. a couple of skid plates under it as well. Nothing extreme. I'll probably add some sort of locker depending on how well my traction control does. I'm not really into major rock crawling. I enjoy more back-country exploring / camping. My boys are excited to do some camping and 4 wheeling.

What would be the best places to start with?

Hit me up if you want to try Prov canyon sometime. It's one of the few somewhat challenging trails in Cache valley. I think your RR would do just fine and the scenery is nice. Is it worth driving from Layton to see? Maybe. It's worth checking out if you've never been.

I'm in Layton too. Great areas and miles of roads up behind Logan area - Providence Canyon included. Skyline above Farmington/Boutiful is easy but very picturesque, with some harder offshoots. West desert is a fun place.

If he's taking his kids with I would recommend getting out to Old Ephriam's grave if he's up that direction. I don't remember the road being difficult but going to the grave is one of the things I remember from going up Logan canyon.

def four wheel explore/camp/fish the Uinta's off Mirror Lake Hwy starting from Kamas UT. Particularly the Soapstone area is a good spot to start, but google earth will show you the entire network of little inland lakes and road network that connects them.

Take a four wheeling/camping trip/fish on any part of "South Skyline Drive" which stretch's from Spanish fork canyon all the way south to past Mayfield UT. One of the most amazing high mountain roads out there that is entirely accessible in stock 4x4's... believe its part of what I've heard people call "the mantis".
